Transition and password glitches have caused a slight delay in passing on news. Here's the update on the "Big Guy". Since he is pretty addicted to golf Sharon, along with Rick & Nancy Sherman took him to his favorite Alma Mater, Pacific Lutheran University, where Sharon bought him a sweatshirt and Nancy & Rick bought him a new PLU golf hat. On Wed. we also took him to a meeting and we all enjoyed that.
Thurs. he was not feeling well and rested quite a bit.
Today has been a calm day. Lots of rest and a little walking. Appetite is better today.
Please keep those prayers coming. Miracles do happen.

Sharon

Comment Hi Rick and Sharon, so good to see the daily log and how your team is fighting this thing one day at a time. I used to learn about freedom from my meetings in prison, about God from people with big black motorcycles, now I'm learning more about returning to health from anythings our higher power puts in the everchanging path of growing. God bless you both. love, Maria

Comment Well I'm off tonight to travel down to SC from Pinehurst NC to speak at a meeting down there. Its an honored to be asked to carry this message that was so freely given to me. I will pass on to the folks down there that they too, can have a life beyond there wildest imagination, just as that old man with the funny hat promised me back in Germany. All that is needed is willingness to follow a few suggestion and remeber one more thing, I'm just a Drunk and really don't know a damn thing. Well that is how he deliver the message to me, and for that I am enterally grateful. I will be back over in Germany 13-30 Oct to see my girls and attend the castle roundup. Rick, and Sharon you will both be with me tonight, as I speak just as you all are every moment of my spiritual life. With love and Service George W

Comment Rick and Sharon, Thanks for the up-date Sharon. I suppose many folks are reading these up-dates but don't write because of fear. When I first wrote I was not sure what to say, or even how to say it. I learned from Rick that in order to beat the fear you have to face it. Writing to you is just like sharing. Once you open up the words just come out, and ya just never know what words they might be. I am positive of one thing Rick and that is that this AFGE is bringing us all back together. And that is awesome. I would love to hear somthing from you Rick...don't be shy... Love, Michael & Janet

Comment Hi Rick and Sharon, Talked to Lou yesterday. He is now in the Landstuhl area getting his new apartment settled. He has to close out the old apartment this week and then I think he is permanently down in K-town. He will be a much needed addition to the AA community here, since many of the long timers are leaving. Bill and Maggie Reichtiene are going back to the states permanently in October. Many of our home grown sobriety people are leaving this year, Ethan is in Alaska, Dan Sternberg (lunchbox) leaves in October, Rick and Lara in the spring and the list is growing. I'm glad Lou is here to help me not feel like an old goat. I went to Denmark to see Joe and Charlie (this was Joe #2 as Joe McQuay is 86 and doesn't travel any more). Charley said to say hi and said this wil probably be his last time in Europe since he is 76, but he is still going strong. I got nervous because they did a countdown at the study with over 160 people there and I came up 4th oldest at 19 years. It did remind me of the old K-town round-up when I first got sober and I was all the way down at the other end......I like it there better! If you have anything for Lou, let me know and I will pass it on to him. He prays for Rick daily and reminded me that he has known Rick since 1997, when he took over the Frankfurt RTF as the NCOIC. He really misses you two. TAke care and I send all my prayers and thanks for all the things you have done for me. I hope I can pass it all on. Love and God Bless Chris

Comment Rick: it has been raining on and off for a month in your old stomping grounds. Golfed once this week and thought of you as I hit a laser and lost he clubhead off the old Harrison shaft. Just kidding. Glad you are feeling stronger. Deb and I send our love. I tried to call earlier in the week and someone was on the pooder. I wonder who it could be, flyboy. Lots of love, David
